Marie Harlow - Founder
As Marie started Graduate Studies in Social Work, she received the devastating news that her mother had an aggressive form of cancer. Since Marie was an only child, she assumed all the responsibility for her mother’s care. It became apparent that her father had dementia (as did his sister) and that Marie was going to take her mother’s place as the caregiver for the families long term care needs. While searching for help and becoming involved with Snowline Hospice, it became apparent that offering the type of resources that she needed was a path that she was meant to follow. Marie founded Help At Home, Inc in 1997. At the time, private home care was very expensive and difficult to find. Taking her degree and putting it to work “was the most gratifying step I ever made.” Working closely with Snowline Hospice and supporting the development of family caregiver support programs (public and private) allowed her to contribute to a broader resource base for older adults. Along with expanding services throughout three counties, Marie is now an active member of the National Patient Advocate Foundation and enjoys writing for senior publications. “I have been blessed with a wonderful staff. Because of that, I can pursue my love of travel, hiking, kayaking and photography without trepidation." |

Jamilyn Bloodworth - Geriatric Care Manager
In 2003, Jamilyn began working with our clients and caregivers as a care-coordinator. She has always had a great love for older adults and proved it quickly as our clients embraced her youth, vitality and compassion. She has acquired Geriatric Care Management Certification and is continuing her education with a goal of a nursing degree. Jamilyn enjoys working with the Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and ALS Associations and can be seen at many conferences and health fairs in Sacramento, El Dorado and Placer Counties. She enjoys spending time outdoors and at the rivers with her son, Carter and Buster (her Golden Retriever). Jamilyn’s other great love is for animals. She often volunteers time assisting with animals that have been rescued.

Bill Scott - Care Manager
Bill is a licensed Medical Assistant and has completed his LVN studies. He is a bright, caring young man who decided that nursing, specifically Home Health Care was his calling. We are lucky to have him performing our evaluations, managing client care and adding to our training protocol. Bill’s enthusiasm and knowledge is a fine addition to Help At Home’s community presence. He is a devoted father of three, a soccer coach and an avid off-road cyclist.

Ronda Smith - Account Manager
Ronda came to Help At Home in 2004 to take over our accounting functions. Little did she know that her care and compassion would lead her to become immersed in the agency’s staffing processes as well! Ronda immediately saw the need for a perfect match between our clients and caregivers. She is our accounting anchor but also a gift to us as a problem solver, whether during office hours or on-call. She has been an integral part of our agency’s growth in the last five plus years. Ronda is an avid Kings fan and spends much of her time with her husband, children and very close family.

Dee Carter - Administrative Coordinator
Dee arrived at Help At Home with the most valued type of experience possible; she personally cared for a disabled sister for six years. Her familiarity with the County family caregiver programs gives her perfect perspective. Dee also had previous years of administrative experience that proved invaluable to us. She can do it all, from staffing our client cases to managing HR and wears the hats to prove it. Her specific life experience is very valuable to our clients and to us. Dee and her husband, Don, live in the country with their two dogs, Henri and Bonita, and three happy goats. They enjoy cooking and exploring the vineyards of El Dorado and Amador Counties.

Linda Himan - Geriatric Care Consultant
A degree in Gerontology can only compliment Linda’s great love for the elderly. She has dedicated herself to the care and quality of life of older adults for over twenty years. In those two decades she acted as an RCFE administrator, a caregiver, a home health care coordinator and an elder rights activist on behalf of California Senator Maurice Johannessen’s bill SB 1724. We are grateful to have her managing client care and managing our caregivers. Linda loves music, dancing, cooking and gathering people together. She is a gem! |
